Heat shrink tubing is one of the most commonly used tools in any electrical field, especially in the automotive industry. In some cases, tape can be used to insulate wires, but in the high-risk conditions of a vehicle, heat shrink tubing alone is sufficient.
As a non-conductive material made of thermoplastic, heat shrink tubing is a protective insulator for wires, cables, splices, connectors and joints. The tubing is heated to shrink radially around the wiring to create a tight-fitting seal.
